Pistia Stratiotes (Floating Aquatic)

This tender floating aquatic is perfect for tropical indoor pools. Commonly known as Water lettuce, it forms rosettes of softly hairy foliage that sit at the water’s surface with the fine roots suspended beneath. Pistia stratiotes multiplies via runners to form floating colonies, which offer excellent shade and cover for fish. This tender perennial is best grown in very sheltered outdoor ponds or frost free indoor ponds at a temperature of 15°c (59F) or above. Height: 30cm (12″). Spread: 20cm (16″). Planting depth: Zones 2, 3 & 4 floating on water’s surface.
