Hippophae Rhamnoides ‘Pollmix’

Sea Buckthorn is valued for its ability to tolerate poor dry soils, salt spray and exposure, making it an ideal hedging and shelter belt choice for coastal gardens. ‘Pollmix’ is a male cultivar that does not produce berries but is useful for pollinating other female buckthorns. It forms a large upright shrub or small tree with silvery-green, willow-like leaves. Plants spread via suckers to form a dense thicket, providing superb wind protection and privacy and usefully stabilising loose, sandy soils. Maximum height: 8m (26.2ft). Spread: 4m (13ft).
