Almond (Prunus) ‘Ingrid’

A beautiful ornamental tree as well as a productive one, almond ‘Ingrid’ is the most reliable cropper in the UK, producing pale green velvety fruits containing high-quality nuts with a delightful flavour. This self-fertile variety produces stunning pale pink blossom in March and April, adding superb early spring interest to your garden before most other blossoms are out. Prunus ‘Ingrid’ has long, pointed leaves that show reasonable resistance to leaf curl. It will thrive in a sunny, sheltered spot that offers some protection from late frosts. Nuts are ready to harvest in early autumn – September or even late August. Height and spread: 5m (16ft).
